Church Planting Coach + Co-Strategist
“An invaluable asset…”
“Chris is a proven leader and consummate practitioner. He effectively translates philosophy and ideology into functional missional focus. He is one of the best at understanding the socio-economic, historical and cultural influences of the area in which he is serving. His depth of understanding, breadth of experience, genuine care and concern will be an invaluable asset to any new start or re-focus initiative.”
— Jay Sandbloom, Christ Community Church of the Nazarene
Being the founder and Lead Pastor of the 8th Street Church—an urban church in Midtown Oklahoma City—Chris knows a thing (or two) about starting a church from the ground up. (Click here to see where the 8th Street Dream began.)
The task of planting a church doesn’t have to be a daunting experience! Our process includes:
Knowing where to begin (How do I start right?)
Developing a philosophy (Why am I doing this in the first place?)
Writing a plan (Where am I going and how do I get there?)
Getting initial “investors” interested (Who are the key influencers that can help me?)
Establishing a timeline (What are the steps to get this off the ground and how long should it take?)
Telling the story (Who should I share this vision with and how should I share it?)
Gathering resources (What resource do I need?... hint, it’s more than just money)
Building a team (How do I find the right people?)
Establishing a board of directors (What do I do to develop leaders and give strength to the organization?)
Making it legal and official (How do I create accountability to protect myself?)
“His ability to influence…”
“Chris is a humble servant-leader who values listening. Chris is a brother in Christ who is caring, thoughtful, and not afraid to take action. In my opinion, one of his greatest strengths is his ability to influence people to accomplish a common goal in the midst of uncertainty. I recommend Chris with full confidence because I know he is going to bring his very best to whatever church, organization, or project he serves.”
— Warren Rogers, Olivet Nazarene University
